This is an unusual black velvet evening bag. Judging by the hardware, it's likely beyond vintage and more into the antique realm, but era is unknown. In the shape of a square envelope, a dimpled brass button pops down and the flap to which the wide velvet strap is afixed, slips over a pin, and the button snaps back up and onto the pin. The interior is black satin and contains two pockets on the back side (interior), one zippered and one open. The bag can be carried as a clutch with the handle neatly folded over or as a handbag. Measuring 8 1/2" x 8" x 1", the handle is 2" wide and drops 6".
